Maracatu Mar Aberto: Brazilian Drummers Maracatu Mar Aberto is an Afro-Brazilian percussion and song troupe playing Maracatu de Baque Virado and other rhythms derived from the same traditions. Translated to English as the "Open Sea," their name represents the aggregated influences that have traveled from Africa to Brazil and onward to Toronto and beyond.

Birds of Prey The Canadian Raptor Conservancy features birds from around the globe: the Turkey Vulture, Bald Eagle, Golden Eagle, Barn Owl, Great Horned Owl, Eagle Owl, Peregrine Falcon, Lanner Falcon, Ferruginous Hawk, Red-tailed Hawk, Harris Hawk, and American Kestrel. Meet the only Bird of Prey in the world with a sense of smell; match vision with the animal with the best eyes in nature; witness the raptor that can reach speeds of over 200km per hour in a breathtaking dive! Witness the unique flight characteristics of each bird, then participate with conservancy trainers in a special question and answer session. This event is free for all to enjoy.
